The Arcade Fire

Let’s take a break from street wear first. I know this may come off geeky but a lot of designers have been inspired one way or another by these games at one point so here goes: I’ve been playing a lot of family com lately. I’ve been hooked on Larry Bird V.S. Micheal Jordan.

Really addicting game, i must say. You see, gaming nowadays is too complicated. At the risk of sounding like an old pruney dufus, back in the day we only had a and b to press and i think that really defined a good gamer. Today, it’s all about sticks which really do the trick for you so fuck that. No offense though. EA Skate and L4D are pretty fun to play.

But still. Whatever happened to up up down down left right left right B A start? Now that’s real gaming right there! Ofcourse, you can’t go wrong with Mario too!

But if you really played played Nintendo Family Com, you would probably know these two games.

Double Dragon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are two of my personal favorites. I always picked Leonardo just coz he was the cool one in blue. Remember the Pizza? The ninjas? and SHREDDER!!!! Unfortunately, after the glory days of 8 bit and 16bit, came 3D. Even the new cartoon series got pretty sucky or maybe i just got older? As lame as the 90’s TMNT movies were, i’d still pick them over the new ones that came out. Just so were clear though ,I’m not saying old school’s the ultimate shit and fuck the new consoles and stuff. I’m just saying if you didn’t go through the old school stuff, you don’t know gaming.
